My Spring Bucket List

My Spring Bucket List

I’m so excited to get this down on paper/in type – in the hopes that I will stick to it and achieve everything on my list. I plan to write one for every season and tick as much off these lists as possible. So here goes – everything I’d love to experience this Spring.

Explore Flower Markets

If you’re a regular around here, or over on my Instagram, you may have picked up on my slight obsession with flowers. I love nothing more than filling our home with fresh blooms at this time of year – but let me tell you, my wallet is not a fan. So after discovering The Flower Market, Perth last week where I managed to buy enough flowers for four vases for the same price as an arrangement I am officially making it my Spring mission to discover other such spots where I can grab a coffee and peruse rows of gorgeous fresh flowers straight from the market.

Melbourne Cup Day

There have to be some perks to working for yourself – right? And what is Spring without an excuse to don Spring Racing Fashion? I am determined to attend a Melbourne Cup event this year for the first time in seven years. I’m a firm believer that the best way to experience race day is at an organised event that includes a definite place to sit, a glass of bubbles and a canapé or two over the general ‘rock up to the races and drink from a can’ option… recommendations now being taken!

Refreshing Spring Facial

Am I the only one who’s skin is in a serious state post Winter? As soon as I managed to get on top of a skincare routine that worked for my insane dryness, my annoying combination complexion would flip 180 and become insanely greasy! So I’m currently researching some of Perth’s best Ph balancing facials to get my skin to the starting blocks for a successful Spring! I've got my eye on one of the Pevonia high performance facials at Museo in Mount Lawley... watch this space for a review on the results!

Bucket List Breakfast

Ever since moving to Perth I’ve been dying to head out to Slate Café in the Swan Valley – Let me paint you a little picture. The sun is shining, the coffee is making its way into your blood stream – slowly but surely waking you up limb by limb, you’re about to tuck into the most delicious Asian inspired eggs benedict, and THERE ARE PUPPY DOGS PLAYING ALL AROUND YOU! So many of my favourite things all in one spot! This amazing café is as much about the social life of man’s best friend as it is yours – and the minute we have a free Saturday and the sun is shining, we’re there!

Bucket List Booze - on a Roof

Goals for Spring sipping – literally anywhere I can feel the sun on my face and enjoy the view. Throw in a good looking husband and 4pm start of a Friday and we have seasonal perfection! Those definitely on my hit list for the next couple of months are:

A Negroni at Bob’s Bar
The mother of all Bloody Marys at Mechanics Institute
Joining the Gin revolution at The Sherry @ The Flour Factory

Sunset Picnic

I know, I know – it might be considered more of a Summer activity, but I have a very solid reason for enjoying this one in Spring too. The sunsets tend to be more dramatic in Spring, with those winter clouds still hanging around creating stunning skyscapes across the horizon. Another bonus is that it’s still a little chilly once the sun has gone down – the perfect excuse to get wrapped up in a cosy blanket with a special someone and enjoy the view. Pair that with some of the delicious gourmet food on offer in WA from both the Swan Valley and the Margaret River Region, and you’ve got yourself the perfect spring Picnic.

Spring Wardrobe

This year I am determined to nail my seasonal wardrobes. Not being made of money, my goal is to only buy the key pieces that can see me through both Spring and Summer, pairing everything with key pieces I already own that work for this season. I always start with shoes – shoes inspire me and I find it much easier to justify a spend on shoes that I do on an item of clothing. I’m almost finished curating my Spring wardrobe and can’t wait to bring it to you in another blog post! Think statement sleeves, sliders, and all the navy!

I have loved writing this and getting excited about Spring… what’s on your Spring bucket list? I’m sure there are a million things that haven’t made it onto my list so I’d love to hear what you go to activities are for this time of year, after all I’ll need inspiration for my Summer bucket list!

Much love guys,

Katie xx
