Best Eateries in Bunbury, WA
Since uploading my recent Vlog of our trip to Bunbury, I realised how much I talk about food when I’m filming! So following that trip I thought I’d pull together my top picks of where and what to eat in Bunbury… now you’ll have to visit!
There are some fantastic pubs, bars and restaurants in Bunbury these days. Some are only a couple of years old and already killing the game, and some have been an icon for many years.
Corners on King – Situated on the edge of the estuary this gem of a café is everything. From the minute you walk in you are hit with a glorious sight – stacks and stacks of house made cakes, pastries, and slices beyond your wildest dreams! And this is all before you’ve seen their speciality waffles menu. Couple that with an epic breakfast menu featuring all your faves (and a few special extras), you simply can’t go wrong.
Katie’s Top Pick: Avocado Smash and a Chai Latte
Mitch’s Top Pick: Eggs Benedict with Bacon, a cappuccino with an extra shot and a fresh orange juice.
Café 140 – Right at the end of the bustling Victoria street in the CBD, this quirky café has the kind of service that coupled with a delicious breaky is guaranteed to start your day with big smiles. With a relaxed, industrial vibe, including a converted sea container seating area, this is a perfect breaky spot to start your day of mooching through town.
Katie’s Top Pick: House made Seeded Granola with English Breakfast Tea
Mitch’s Top Pick: The Big Plate and a cappuccino (Always a cappuccino 😉 )
The Rose Hotel – The Icon. This stunning heritage-listed pub has been serving since 1865! In 2015 a change in ownership saw a renovation project of a massive scale, which I can safely say has been executed perfectly. The modern and comfortable styling still embraces the building for everything it is and has been in the past. A fantastic new menu and a much needed update to the bar stock set you up for damn good pub lunch!
Katie’s Top Pick: Lamb Shank with a Zenzero Ginger Beer
Mitch’s Top Pick: Captain Morgan Pork Ribs OR Chicken Parmi with a pint.
Vat 2 – This place became a favourite during my family’s recent visit. Situated right on the beach, kids can play safely whilst you enjoy a delicious glass of local SBS. A visit to Vat 2 is done best on a glorious summers day where you can sit outside whiling away the day with great company.
Katie’s Top Pick: Healthy Snack Platter (with some added chicken) and a glass of Willowbridge SBS
Mitch’s Top Pick: Vat 2 Burger and probably a pint!
Mojos – Our ride or die dinner spot in Bunbury! These guys just celebrated their 16th anniversary of providing phenomenal food and service to their patrons. Mojo’s is a small, stylish restaurant serving both an a la carte menu and a selection of mouth-watering bar bites (perfect for a pre-movie dinner as they are situated in the same complex as the cinema). I could write an entire post on their wine list alone, to say nothing of their impeccable knowledge of everything they serve. Do yourself a favour and enjoy a relaxing evening in the company of fantastic service, delicious food, and award winning local wines.
Katie’s Top Pick: Chicken Risotto
Mitch’s Top Pick: Lamb Shoulder (NB – serves two!)
Impossible to recommend just one or two wines! However if you visit during the chilly months, Jake’s Mulled Wine is to die for!
Market Eating House – If you watched my recent vlog you may have worked out just how impressed we were with Market Eating House! Delicious food served tapas style but with influences from all over the world. Brilliant service which made us feel so welcome, and best of all the staff really knew the menu and provided some excellent recommendations for wine pairing.
Katie & Mitch’s Top Pick: Charcuterie platter, spiced cauliflower, saganaki cheese, beef oyster blade. Make sure you treat yourself to a delicious salted caramel espresso martini too!
Well I hope this post inspires any Bunbury locals to try somewhere/something new, and if you are contemplating a trip down south, let your stomach lead the way!
Much Love Guys,
